This policy applies to the Android app Gainbo and to this website getgainbo.app. The German version is legally binding.

In short

Gainbo stores your settings, plans, own recipes and daily log only on your device. There is no user account, no ads and no tracking. We do not sell data. This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.

1. The app

Data on your device

Goal, diet, intolerances, optionally your body weight, weekly plans, shopping list, ratings, own recipes and which boxes you ate. Intolerances and weight can be health data. They never leave your device and are not sent to us or anyone else. You can delete everything at any time under Profile > Reset everything or save it as a file under Profile > Export data.

Notifications and widget

Reminders are scheduled locally on your device and only shown if you allow them. The home screen widget reads the same local data. Nothing is transmitted for this.

Purchases (Gainbo Pro)

There are currently no purchases in Gainbo. If an optional "Gainbo Pro" subscription is offered later, purchases will go through Google Play and we would use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA) to manage your Pro status. A random app user ID, Google Play receipts, device type and country would be processed to verify and restore your purchase (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), with transfers to the USA based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We will update this policy before that happens.

Google's privacy policy also applies to installation, updates and any payments.

2. This website

Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you visit, Vercel processes technically necessary data such as IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Transfers to the USA rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or EU Standard Contractual Clauses. No cookies, no analytics, no third-party content

We set no cookies, use no analytics or tracking services and load no fonts, videos or scripts from third-party servers.

Contact by email

If you write to us, for example to become a tester, we process your email address and message to reply and, if relevant, invite you to the test on Google Play (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We delete the data once it is no longer needed for that.

3. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Just write to us at the address above.
